NSLDN files suit against Department of Education over documents related to nonprofit conversions

On April 16, 2018, NSLDN filed a lawsuit on behalf of The Century Foundation (TCF) in the Southern District of New York against the U.S. Department of Education. The lawsuit seeks documents in response to a FOIA request submitted by TCF for communications related to change-in-ownership requests from two for-profit college chains, the Educational Management Corporation (EDMC) and Kaplan University, that involved conversion to non-profit or public status.
